Last Minute Preparation For Big Filming Sat-Sun

Got up fairly early and began mapping my shot lists for Rat Rod Rockers! This is something new- I'm trying to get basic camera angles set-up on a location map that I pre-create. The location is an old abandoned house on several wooded acres only a few blocks from my own house. I set the shoot up with the home owner through the real estate agent. Had to get location insurance and pay a small fee to the home owner, but it is worth it. The way I'm using the map is with numbered camera icons showing the direction of the camera and actors and directions of movement, cars, etc. Then I use highlighters to match map to shot list to script. Sounds complicated but it's not. usually I read each section of the script and set my camera angles up on the fly. We have to get many scenes done in one day so I wanted to take out any on location think time. Lets see. I think I'm ready!

Shots Lists, Storyboards, Blah Blah Blah

Spent the whole day getting organized for next weekends filming of Rat Rod Rockers! exterior house scenes. Mostly working on a daily actors schedule and small re-writes of the script. Also had to check with a moving company who is bringing their moving van on Sunday for a quick scene in the film. We will get nice shots of their van sides as a kinda free advertisement for them in exchange for their time. I also need to pick up two shirts for cast members as part of their costumes tonight. Busy last minute stuff! However this is a major chunk of the movie and well worth the extra effort.

Preparation For Next Weekend

Busy next few days. Getting shot lists and prop lists and script adjustments set for Saturdays and Sundays shoot for Rat Rod Rockers! Shot lists and story boards are going to be key to getting as much done as possible. I wanna go in and boom boom boom- be done with it. This is most of our outdoor filming for Rat Rod Rockers! and seeing as how we are running out of good weather, I want to have enough digital video to edit through the winter months. We will get all our indoor scenes done regardless and may push late into October and can pickup the last car chases this spring if need be.
